EWPanel, founded in 2016, has developed a nanogenerator that can convert small movements, such as walking or touching a surface, into electricity to charge low-power electronics. The tape-like thin film nanogenerator is made from inexpensive, renewable wood pulp and can be incorporated into a variety of materials for self-contained power generation in applications including self-powered occupancy sensors and luminous or energy-harvesting floors.
As of February 1, 2020, the company was no longer operating, according to Pitchbook.
