Six UW–Madison energy experts named to 2019 "Highly Cited" list

UW–Madison professors Shannon Stahl, James Dumesic, Mikhail Kats, Song Jin, George Huber, and John Ralph (pictured left to right) have been named to Clarivate Analytics' 2019 list of "Highly Cited Researchers."

Six researchers from UW–Madison and the Wisconsin Energy Institute (WEI) have been named to Clarivate Analytics’ 2019 list of “Highly Cited Researchers.” Those named include James Dumesic, professor of chemical and biological engineering; George Huber, professor of chemical and biological engineering; Song Jin, associate professor of chemistry; Mikhail Kats, associate professor of electrical and computer engineering; John Ralph, professor of biochemistry; and Shannon Stahl, professor of chemistry.

According to Clarivate Analytics, the list “identifies scientists and social scientists who produced multiple papers ranking in the top 1% by citations for their field and year of publication, demonstrating significant research influence among their peers.”

The purpose of the list is to celebrate researchers whose work is making the biggest expansions to the limits of human knowledge. David Pendlebury, an analyst at the Institute for Scientific Information, says these researchers “create gains for society, innovation and knowledge that make the world healthier, richer, more sustainable and more secure.”
