At UW–Madison’s hub for energy discovery, we love to serve our constituency: you.
We are thankful to the hundreds of passionate members of the WEI community that passed through our doors to attend an event, tour, talk, or meeting in the past year.
“Forward in Energy” has been our rallying cry since the day we opened our doors in 2013, and gifts from our supporters move us closer to sustainable solutions to meet society’s growing need for power, fuels, and chemicals. Here are just a few examples of our successes in the past year:
- Developed a new method to synthesize acetaminophen, the active ingredient in Tylenol, using plants rather than fossil fuels;
- Hosted two dozen alumni and their grandchildren as they designed and built their own wind turbines, experimented with fermentation, toured labs, and learned what energy means to one another — and how that has changed over the years;
- Charted a new course to turn dairy waste into bio-based plastic, through a partnership with the National Dairy Council that can benefit both Wisconsin farmers and our environment.
Researchers at WEI know that developing collaborations with industry stakeholders and sharing expertise can help solve societal challenges and create new economic opportunities for communities across our state and country. Your gift helps advance these goals.
With your contribution, you help WEI continue our leadership in clean energy research, hands-on education, and industry partnerships. Your support always makes a difference, and we are most appreciative.
Don’t wait — make your gift to WEI today.
