Lori joined the Wisconsin Public Utility Institute in July 2017 as its new director. She is highly motivated to continue WPUI’s history of producing thought-provoking forums and workshops by fostering the successful collaboration and dialogue that lead to cooperative discussion and decision making among multiple stakeholder groups.

Prior to joining WPUI, Lori worked at the Public Service Commission of Wisconsin (PSCW) for 10 years where she served as a key member of the Division of Regional Energy Markets team. As a co-chair of the Organization of MISO States Seams Work Group, she initiated and led multistate discussions and advised on multiple energy policy issues. Lori also managed the PSCW’s biennial Strategic Energy Assessment and served as its legislative liaison.

Lori’s career has revolved around public service. Her other work experience includes serving as policy director in the Office of the WI Lieutenant Governor, legislative analyst at the Legislative Audit Bureau of Wisconsin, and program manager of the small business and non-governmental organization programs for Peace Corps Estonia. Prior to becoming a Peace Corps program manager, Lori was also a Peace Corps volunteer in Estonia.

Lori received her master of public policy degree, with concentrations in community and economic development and foreign policy, from the Humphrey School of Public Affairs in Minneapolis, MN. She received her bachelor of arts degree in business administration and Russian studies from Concordia College in Moorhead, MN.
