From pandemic to pandemonium. Why we need scientific societies that keep us effective (and together).

Dr. Stefano Bertuzzi
Chief Executive Officer of the American Society for Microbiology (ASM)

The current geopolitical environment, with nationalisms and autocracies on the rise worldwide, is pulling us in a direction that does not necessarily align with the principles and values of open science, open data, and open access. Dr. Bertuzzi will examine the principles and practices that scientific societies can use to advocate effectively for the core values that are needed in solving complex problems for humanity.
