The ECONGO Logframe: or how we can work together to achieve climate literacy and action really fast

What the heck is ECONGO and what’s a logframe? And what in the world does that have to do with climate change?

First, a little context.

By the year 2050 there will likely be around ten billion people on planet Earth. For decades it has been known that human activities, especially from people burning substantial quantities of fossil fuels for energy, are altering the climate system. In 1992 the nations of the world agreed to do something about it by signing the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change. It included the radical idea that the public should be informed and engaged in developing “adequate responses” to climate change.

But while there have been a few success stories in public engagement in addressing climate challenges, the reality is that 40% of adults around the world are unaware of global warming caused by human activities, and even when it is taught, many teachers lack the background and understanding to promote climate literacy and action.
