KidWind Educator Workshop - Madison, WI

The Wisconsin Energy Institute and Wisconsin’s K-12 Energy Education Program are excited to bring the KidWind Educator Workshop to Madison. Join us and learn how to explore the power of wind and solar with your students!

Participants will review energy and electricity basics, design and test blades in a wind tunnel, explore the UW–Madison Arboretum’s online solar dashboard with inquiry questions, and preview ready-to-use renewable energy curriculum. You’ll leave with the resources and confidence to use renewable energy as a lens into hands-on science, technology, and engineering exploration in the classroom (and some free gear)!

During this ½ day workshop at the UW–Madison Arboretum's new outdoor classroom, participants will also learn about the annual WI KidWind Challenge and gain tips and tricks for coaching student teams through the process of designing and constructing small-scale turbines.

KidWind materials are best for 4-12th grade students. Workshops are open to formal and non-formal educators. Certificates of attendance will be provided upon request.

The first ten registrants will receive a free Kidwind Wind Turbine Kit!

Workshop Cost: $15

Time: 9:00 am - 12:00 pm
