In a free public seminar at 3:30 PM on January 28, in room 1115 of the Wisconsin Energy Institute, Biological Systems Engineering Professor Troy Runge will provide an overview of production of biofuels and bioproducts from cellulose, including historical uses and potential future applications. Cellulose is the most abundant organic compound on Earth, and has been used in products such as paper and textiles for centuries. New processing techniques are enabling a wider range of applications for human consumption, including fuels, chemicals, and lightweight materials.
