Join us for an interesting and interactive dive into the topic of albedo and its effect on the earth’s temperature!
In this 45-minute Zoom lesson, we will explore the topic of albedo, interactively design and conduct a simple online experiment, and introduce the work of GLBRC Researcher, Cheyenne Liu. Albedo is a measure of the reflectivity of a surface. This process has a significant impact on Earth’s temperature, as its varying surfaces absorb or reflect different amounts of solar energy. How does albedo impact climate change? Join us to find out!
If this topic is of interest to you, your family, or your students sign up using the link below and join us on Friday, November 13th at 1:00 p.m. central time via Zoom! Though the pandemic has necessitated changes in everyone’s personal lives, work and school, we at WEI believe strongly in continuing to foster curiosity and facilitate learning in our communities in a safe, distanced manner.
Targeted age: 6th-9th grade, but appropriate for 4th-11th grade
