Izabela Szlufarska is the Harvey D. Spangler Professor of Engineering in the materials science and engineering department in the University of Wisconsin–Madison College of Engineering. Prior to joining UW–Madison in 2004, Szlufarska was a postdoctoral researcher at the University of Southern California and received her Ph.D. in physics from the University of Tennessee, Knoxville.
