Josh Coon, Brian Fox, and Chris Hittinger receive Vilas honors
Three WEI faculty members have been honored by UW–Madison for outstanding scholarship and service.
Affiliates Josh Coon, professor of biomolecular chemistry, and Brian Fox, professor of biochemistry, were among a dozen professors named to Vilas Distinguished Achievement Professorships, an award recognizing distinguished scholarship as well as standout efforts in teaching and service. The professorship provides five years of flexible funding.
WEI investigator Chris Todd Hittinger, professor of genetics, was among 18 faculty awarded Vilas Faculty Mid-Career Investigator Awards in recognition of research and teaching excellence. The award provides flexible research funding for three years.
The awards are supported by the estate of professor, U.S. Senator, and UW Regent William F. Vilas (1840-1908).
