Scientists, like those in the Great Lakes Bioenergy Research Center, are working to find ways to use plant material like corn stalks, grasses, and wood chips to make renewable fuels and chemicals. Teamwork is essential, as scientists from a variety of different fields must work together to grow the plants, break them down into usable parts, and convert them into valuable products.
