Day of the Badger: Support the Wisconsin Energy Institute

Save the Date: April 6-7

The Day of the Badger campaign is an annual campus-wide, multi-program fundraising event that brings friends and alumni of the University of Wisconsin–Madison together for 1,848 minutes of giving back. Starting on April 6 at 10:12 a.m. and concluding on April 7 at 5 p.m., the Day of the Badger is a day for Badger nation to make a far-reaching impact in a short amount of time. It’s a chance to give to a passion, show UW–Madison spirit, and connect with the Badger community.

Join us on April 6-7 and help support the Wisconsin Energy Institute on UW–Madison's Giving Day.

How Gifts Make a Difference

Your gifts support our leading-edge energy research, innovation, and outreach. Every donation funds solutions that address our growing energy and climate challenges, enhance public understanding of energy issues, and prepare the next generation of energy leaders.

Give on the Day of the Badger to help us:

Teach K-12 students about energy justice. Climate change and our fossil fuel-based energy system disproportionately hurt low-income communities, people of color, and Indigenous peoples. These communities also bear higher energy burdens and limited access to renewable energy benefits. #DayOfTheBadger gifts will help us build K-12 outreach programs that teach future leaders about the links among energy, climate, and environmental justice.

Boost community outreach and student training programs. Your gifts will help us expand our annual KidWind Challenge, facilitate conversations that foster energy literacy and amplify the voices of marginalized communities, and fund student travel to training opportunities and conferences.

Why We Need Your Support

At the Wisconsin Energy Institute, we envision a world powered by sustainable and reliable energy that is affordable and accessible to everyone.

Your contribution will help us continue our leadership in clean energy research, hands-on education, and community engagement. #DayOfTheBadger gifts will support vital explorations of the economic and societal impacts of energy through events like our Forward in Energy Forum.

It is more urgent than ever that we make energy clean, affordable, and accessible for all communities. Through your generosity on April 6-7, you play a crucial role in enabling us to meet those challenges.
