Assistant Professor of Nuclear Engineering & Engineering Physics
College of Engineering
Dr. Benjamin Lindley is an assistant professor in the Department of Nuclear Engineering & Engineering Physics at the University of Wisconsin–Madison. He received his Ph.D. in nuclear engineering from the University of Cambridge, UK.
Prior to joining UW–Madison in 2020, Dr. Lindley was a senior nuclear engineer and reactor physicist at Jacobs (formerly Wood, Amec), a research and development consultancy in the United Kingdom. At Jacobs, Dr. Lindley played a key role in the development of software and calculation methodologies for the analysis of boiling water reactors, sodium-
At UW–Madison, Dr. Lindley is leading a research project to design and model an integrated energy system combining advanced nuclear reactors and concentrating solar power that can co-produce electricity and clean water through desalination. A grant from the U.S. Department of Energy Nuclear Energy University Program is funding the work.
