In about a year’s time Re Mixers Inc. has evolved from an idea by UW-Madison College of Engineering alumni Eric Ronning and Brian Pekron for a disposable mixing nozzle into a business that could have a product on the market before year’s end.

“A lot of things came together relatively quickly,” said Ronning, CEO of Re Mixers, who graduated with a mechanical engineering degree in spring 2015. “It’s great that we’ve gotten to this point.”

The company on Tuesday was one of two named by the Wisconsin Economic Development Corp. that received Qualified New Business Venture certification. This means investors can receive a 25 percent state tax credit on the amount they invest in the business.
