Electrical Little Free Library Workshop: Co-hosted with Engineers for a Sustainable World and WEMPEC

An electrical Little Free Library (eLFL) is a Little Free Library that has been upgraded to include solar panels and battery storage. These eLFL’s, created by UW students, provide free community access to clean electricity for charging phones or other devices. In this workshop, participants will learn about this project, and utilize their engineering skills to assemble either the circuitry or the box for an eLFL that will hopefully be placed in our community in the future!

Panel: Dane County Environmental Justice Champions (Co-hosted with CLEAN):

Enact change and join in on a meaningful conversation centering around the intersection of racial, economic and environmental justice in Dane County. The panel provides an opportunity to gain insight from three experts and community leaders spanning across different disciplines on how sustainability is being implemented here at UW–Madison, and statewide. Participants are encouraged to engage with panelists and ask questions and share ideas on how to address these issues. Let's unite together to make a change in our community!

Speed Networking

The Wisconsin Energy Institute is home to cutting-edge research on renewable energy infrastructure, and we are part of a large community of people all working to further the energy transition. During this session, participants will get a chance to network with scientists, educators, and other attendees to learn about current projects and find ways we can collaborate to further climate solutions.

Attendees will also have the opportunity to visit a pop-up photo exhibit showcasing energy research history at UW-Madison, produced by Jacqueline Wisinski.

By Bike: The WEI building is accessible by bike paths and city bike lanes and features ample bike racks. For more information on biking to campus, see here.

By Bus: The University and Breese Bus stop is located next to the WEI building and is serviced by route C. The Energy Institute is close to several other stops that service many other bus lines. For more information, see here.
