James Schneider

Assistant Professor of Civil and Environmental Engineering

Energy Expertise:

James Schneider's research is focused on soil mechanics and foundation behavior. Applications of the research include design and construction of foundations for renewable energy systems and transportation infrastructure, evaluation of strength, stiffness, and cyclic response of soils, as well as assessment of safety margins and optimization of construction effort. Ongoing research includes characterization of soil conditions and evaluation of the influence of soil profiles on design and construction of fixed and floating offshore wind turbines, particularly those on the Great Lakes.
