Energy Expertise:

David Drake's research examines potential wildlife impacts as a result of wind energy development and operation. He conducts research on types of bird and bat mortality from wind energy, and understanding causes of mortality. Drake also looks at bird and bat use of the airspace in and around wind energy facilities, and tries to understand types and numbers of flying wildlife relative to wildlife carcasses found under turbines, and habitat disturbance and wildlife displacement post-construction relative to pre-construction.
